Cheetahs

When in Djibouti I visited a cheetah sanctuary on the outskirts of Djibouti city. This place rehabilitates cheetahs rescued from poachers - and will return them to the wild. I was also lucky enough to visit another cheetah sanctuary when in South Africa. I was able to touch these cheetahs (after a disclaimer!) - their fur is coarse, with the black hairs shorter than the gold.  The blacks around their eyes act as sunglasses and they are such fast runners because their legs are not connected to their torsos like other mammals, and can therefore spin them faster! It was an amazing experience, being next to one.
